Friends,

Before I start, I want to say this: I’m grateful for you. There are far too many people to name, know that I see you and I appreciate you.

First, thank you to my family and friends. They gave up evenings and weekends, dealt with the stress of a campaign, and supported me through every high and low. They didn’t sign up for a campaign. They signed up for me.

To the team: Campaigns are demanding, unpredictable, and exhausting. The people who joined this effort believed in the mission enough to give it everything they had. Win or lose, I would run it back with this group tomorrow.

To the volunteers, thank you. People I had never met before showed up to knock doors, make calls, and talk to their neighbors about this race. I look forward to thanking you all in person.

To the donors: Every contribution, whether it was five dollars or five hundred, was an act of trust. Campaigns are built on people willing to invest in a vision and I never took that support lightly. You’ll receive thank you notes soon!

Finally, thank you to the community leaders and elected officials who helped along the way. I’m grateful for every conversation, every introduction, and every word of encouragement.

I ran this campaign because Houston deserves leadership focused on keeping neighborhoods safe, making life more affordable, and building the infrastructure our growing communities need. The result of this election doesn’t change that belief.

The Army taught me that you don’t quit the mission when things get difficult. Growing up gay in Texas taught me that sometimes you have to fight for your place at the table. That fight doesn’t make you bitter. It makes you stronger.

So while this campaign has come to an end, my commitment hasn’t. I’m excited about what comes next for Houston and I look forward to continuing to show up and be part of the work ahead. If you see me around the neighborhood, don’t hesitate to say hello.

Patrick was born in District C and raised in its public schools. After he lost a job in high school for being gay, he vowed to spend his life fighting bullies who discriminate. He joined the Army after January 6th, served on the NATO front lines in Poland, and now leads teams making AI safer and more aligned. Twelve years ago, Patrick built a mobile app for the City of Houston. Now he's running to represent his home community, build its future, and stand up to the bullies attacking Houston.
