Dear John,
It’s difficult to believe that summer’s end is right around the corner.
The Prison Fellowship team continues to work diligently to prepare for prison reopenings. As of now, we are happy to report that in areas less affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, several prisons have allowed our staff back in. But overall, the process of reopening has been disappointing, with fits and starts, as some prisons opened briefly and shut down again when cases spiked.
We are grateful that, despite the challenges, God continues to propel our work forward through the faithful prayers and support of people like you.
As we come to terms with continued uncertainty, could I ask you to pray with us over these specific ministry needs? We know that where two or more come together in agreement, God is with us. So we solicit your prayers as we continue to serve those affected by crime and incarceration.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- For the safety and good health of all those living and working in prison and their families.
- That COVID-19 cases will begin to decline nationally and prisons will reopen to Prison Fellowship staff, volunteers, and programming.
- For the encouragement of all those in prison who haven’t had visits or contact from loved ones and have limited access to programming and activities due to pandemic restrictions.
- For churches across the country to partner with Angel Tree to serve children of the incarcerated, supplying the Gospel and gifts purchased in person or through Virtual Angel Tree, which will ship gift cards to participating churches for delivery directly to the child or have them mailed by Prison Fellowship.
- That God would continue to provide us with the creativity needed to find new and innovative ways to minister to those we serve.
- For the resources necessary to continue to fulfill our mission of serving those affected by crime and incarceration.
- That our advocacy team would continue to gain favor with legislators and partners to advance justice that restores.
- For protection over our supporters, volunteers, and staff.
We continue to see God move in powerful ways through Prison Fellowship, and we are grateful for your help in making our work possible. We are trusting in His continued provision, and we appreciate your prayers on behalf of the ministry.
