Help #StopTheSpread in Nottingham
*"A Message from City Council Leader, Cllr David Mellen:"*
Cllr David Mellen, leader of Nottingham City Council
Nottingham has been good at responding to the COVID crisis but Leicester and Greater Manchester have shown how easy it is for the virus to re-emerge, which is why it is vital that we continue to follow the rules and guidelines to help keep each other safe. To help stop the spread in Nottingham please remember to:
* Wash your hands
* Wear a face covering
* Keep your distance
* Get a free test if you have symptoms (call 119)
The Government has extended the list of public places that people are expected to wear face coverings to include places like cinemas, theatres, places of worship and community centres. The best available scientific evidence is that, when used correctly, face coverings may reduce the spread of coronavirus droplets, which will help to protect others as people can have the virus without knowing it or displaying any symptoms.
A full list of when to wear a face covering and further guidance can be found on the Government website: Face coverings when to wear one and how to make your own [ [link removed] ]
Everyone has a role to play in keeping Nottingham safe and I know people in our city will continue to do what they do best, looking out for one another.

*Changes to roads around Broadmarsh*
As a part of our redevelopment of the Southside of the city, a number of significant changes are taking place to roads surrounding the Broadmarsh area. These road changes will allow for work to progress in the area creating a new recreational space for Nottinghams residents and visitors to enjoy next to the new Nottingham Central Library currently being built. Collin Street is now closed to all traffic, Canal Street from Greyfriar Gate is only open for buses and wheelchair accessible taxis, Middle Hill is now two-way to allow people access to the Lace Market and Greyfriar Gate between Ocean Nightclub and NCP Arndale Carpark has had its traffic flow reversed to allow drivers to join the new route eastward and westward in the city centre. Find out more about the changes by watching these videos: Click here for a tour of the Southern Relief Route instead of Canal Street [ [link removed] ]

If travelling in the area, please familiarise yourself with the new routes connecting east and west or consider alternative travel arrangements around the city if you can. If you do use the routes please pay attention to the new road signage which will help navigate you through this area.
