AUGUST 10, 2020: _Real Clear Politics_ (RCP) rates 31 U.S. House Races as Toss-Ups in Election 2020. Fourteen races lean towards the Democrats while 14 others lean Republican.[1] ([link removed])
Those competitive races account for just 14% of all House seats. The other 86% are listed as likely or safe for either Republicans or Democrats.[1] ([link removed])
Currently, RCP rates 190 races as Leans, Likely, or Safe Republican. A total of 214 are projected to end up in the Democratic column.[1] ([link removed])
Those numbers give a sense of how difficult the GOP challenge is this election season. To win the House, Republicans would need to carry at least 28 of the 31 Toss-Ups. And, they’d have to hang on to all 14 races that are just leaning in their direction.
