# [#]This might not be the flashiest issue we deal with in Washington, but it’s one of the most important: our national debt and deficit.

For decades, Washington has made decisions that added to our debt – and now, with rising interest rates, younger Americans are the ones being left to pick up the tab.

That’s not right.

Right now, the United States is running deficits of nearly $2 trillion a year, and we’re spending close to $1 trillion annually just on interest payments.

That’s money we’re not investing in schools, infrastructure, or helping people afford housing, health care, and everyday costs.

If you agree Congress must take real, responsible action to reduce the deficit and protect the next generation, add your name. [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

This isn’t a partisan issue. I’m working across the aisle to establish a clear, responsible fiscal target: reducing our deficit to 3 percent of our economy.

It’s a practical, achievable step that would help stabilize our debt and restore accountability to how we budget and spend.

Because right now, young people are being asked to carry the weight of decisions they didn’t make. That’s not fair, and it’s not responsible. We owe them better than that.

We can still make changes to get back on track, but it will take serious, bipartisan work and a commitment to long-term solutions.

Join me in calling for fiscal responsibility and a fairer future for the next generation. [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

Thanks for staying engaged on this important issue,
