Sara has met parents across Wisconsin paying $1,500, $2,000 a month for child care. That's more than their mortgage. More than their groceries and utilities combined.

And when care becomes unaffordable — or disappears entirely — parents, especially moms, are forced out of the workforce. That hurts families. And it hurts our economy.

This week, Sara released her plan to change that.

Here's what it does:

✅ Caps child care costs at 7% of family income — the nationally recognized affordability benchmark — for every Wisconsin family

✅ Gives families real choices: center-based care, home-based providers, faith-based programs, and more

✅ Raises wages for early childhood educators to at least $18/hour — because the people shaping our kids' earliest years deserve to be paid like it

✅ Expands access in child care deserts, especially in rural communities where care has all but disappeared

✅ Builds a long-term, reliable funding model so families and providers can count on this — year after year

Sara is a working mom. She knows what it's like to drop your kids at child care, race to work, and stress about whether you can afford another month.
