Friend,
New York
State Attorney General Letitia James has filed a lawsuit to dissolve
the National Rifle Association after an 18-month investigation
uncovered fraud, financial misconduct, and illegal dealings totaling
into the millions.
If you’ve been following the NRA as closely I have,
this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Last spring, I
wrote to you about how the NRA had organized a trip to Moscow for its
donors and surrogates, and how the delegation met with now-sanctioned
Russian officials. Top NRA executives also diverted
millions for personal use on travel expenses and bought luxury items
(from our district!) in violation of federal laws governing nonprofit
charity organizations. Now, the New York Attorney General is alleging
that the NRA is guilty of “awarding contracts to the financial gain of
close associates and family, and appearing to dole out lucrative
no-show contracts to former employees in order to buy their silence
and continued loyalty.”
The NRA is reeling and in
disarray. The Second Amendment does not protect an organization from
engaging in massive fraud and abuse. Will
you donate $500, $250, $100, or whatever you can today to continue the
fight against the
NRA?
Best, Ted
