Every day, I’m going to work for the Lehigh Valley, and working families across the country. Since I am asking for your support, I want to be sure you’re up to date on what I’ve been working on in Congress, and the issues I’m working to solve.
Last week, I secured $100 million in increased social security funding, through a bill that passed in the House. The additional budget will go towards ending the long waiting times and service problems that can be life-threatening, particularly for folks with disabilities.
Last month, I worked to introduce a bipartisan bill -- the RESTAURANTS Act -- that would bring much-needed relief to independently owned restaurants, which have really suffered during this pandemic.
I also co-sponsored a mental health bill that provides funding for mobile mental health care units, staffed by trained mental health care workers, which is exactly what we need to help so many people. Our police departments have told me that they often don't know what to do with people who are in crisis, who end up as part of the criminal justice system, rather than the health care system.
And, finally, I stood up to the Trump administration to pass a bill to expand health care coverage for working families.
A lot may have changed in the world in the past months, but I’m still laser-focused on improving the lives of the hardworking people in PA-07 and across the country.
