# [#]Right now, essential workers across the Department of Homeland Security are being caught in the middle of political dysfunction.

TSA agents are stretched thin. FEMA staff are working without pay. Coast Guard workers are still showing up every day without knowing when their next paycheck will come.

And for what?

Instead of working toward a real solution, House leadership is bringing the same partisan proposals to the floor – proposals that have already failed and do nothing to reopen DHS or support the people who keep our country running.

That’s not leadership.

If you agree Congress must stop using vital DHS employees as leverage and act now to fund essential services, add your name. [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

There’s a better path forward. I’ve supported legislation that would fund most of DHS – including TSA, FEMA, and cybersecurity operations – while allowing good-faith negotiations to continue on immigration policy.

I also introduced a bill to ensure essential workers get paid during shutdowns by redirecting already-approved, unused funds.

This is common sense. We can keep people safe and treat workers fairly at the same time.

But instead, we’re seeing delays, political posturing, and real consequences for workers and families.

Stand with me in calling on Congress to act in good faith, fund DHS, and pay the people who keep this country running. [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

Thank you for speaking up,

Scott

P.S. Thanks to your generous support, we’ll report strong numbers on our first FEC fundraising filing of the year. The months ahead won’t be easy, but with your steadfast dedication to our shared values, I’m confident that we can overcome any challenges we face along the way.
