This could be the biggest transit service change PRT sees in a generation—and you need to give your input.
PRT has officially released the Bus Line Refresh, a scaled-back version of their Bus Line Redesign project. They hope this update of the existing transit network will better reflect service needs without upending the system—but only you can tell them if their proposal works for you.
PRT will be at our hybrid Monthly Meeting on Wednesday, April 8th [[link removed]] to tell you all about the proposed changes, including specific breakout sessions for different areas of the city.
The best way to shape this proposal to truly benefit Allegheny County riders? Show up, learn about the proposed changes, and tell PRT if they would improve or harm your transit commute.

The Bus Line Refresh could impact tens of millions of transit rides—including yours—to school, work, groceries, healthcare, community, and more.
The best way you can make sure the Bus Line Refresh proposal actually increases service and reliability for transit riders across PRT's service area is submitting your honest feedback about the proposed changes.
The April 8th hybrid meeting [[link removed]] is your best way to learn about what could change, and make sure PRT knows how the changes would impact you.
You can join in-person in Shadyside, or virtually via Zoom. We will have ASL interpretation available for both in-person and virtual attendees, as always.

PPT's hot take on the Refresh: it's better than last time, but still needs work
Last year, when Pittsburgh Regional Transit released a complete system redesign that would have cut dozens of schedules and redrawn every route, you and thousands of other riders spoke up to demand a Bus Line Redesign that benefits all. [[link removed]]
The good news is that the transit agency listened!
PRT has now released Draft 2 of the Bus Line Redesign. It is now called the "Bus Line Refresh " because they heard your organizing. The "Refresh" is keeping the parts of our system that work, while improving much of what you said didn't . They added an easier way to see how the changes would impact you. And they have a new and in-depth schedule of opportunities to give your feedback.
PPT's Research Committee is still reading through the proposed network changes to see how the Refresh differs from the earlier Redesign. (This effort is ongoing, and we could use your help!) Our initial take? It's better than last time, but we're still concerned it won't sustainably solve the service and reliability crisis. [[link removed]]
Next week, the Pittsburghers for Public Transit Research Committee will release a deep-dive advocacy look into Draft 2. Keep an eye out for our blog and RSVP to join the PPT Research Committee to help decode the Bus Line Refresh! [[link removed]]
