The funding bill they passed covers every corner of the federal government. Every agency. Every program. Except the agents on our border and the investigators who track down child sex traffickers.

Think about that. Of all the things they could have fought for, they chose to leave those people behind. HSI, Homeland Security Investigations, is the team that rescues children from trafficking rings. These are the people the Senate decided weren't worth funding.

And the way they did it tells you everything. They passed it after midnight so nobody would be watching. Then they got on planes and went home for two weeks. No debate. No amendments. No accountability.

Meanwhile, Border Patrol agents are still working without pay. ICE agents are still showing up every day. They haven't quit. They haven't walked off the job. They're still protecting you, even though Washington turned its back on them.

Speaker Johnson and I are sending this bill back. We're not going to eat it. We're going to fund these heroes, and we're going to make the Senate answer for what they did.
