Right now, we're in the middle of the fight to ban ghost guns in Pennsylvania, and our advocacy is working.
Ghost guns are untraceable, homemade firearms with no serial numbers, and they’re flooding our local communities. You know what they can do — one was used in the 2023 Kingsessing mass shooting.
Local law enforcement can't stop ghost guns alone. That's why we've been fighting to pass Rep. Morgan Cephas's ghost guns ban (HB 1065).
Over the past two weeks, advocates like you sent more than 2,000 messages to Pennsylvania lawmakers, urging them to co-sponsor a bill to ban ghost guns. Organizers hit the phones, and our staff echoed your demand for change in every conversation with leaders and allies.
The result? Three more representatives just signed on as co-sponsors. Now, 44 representatives have publicly backed the ghost gun ban. We’re more than halfway to our goal of securing 75 co-sponsors, which will give this bill the momentum it needs to get out of committee.
We can’t stop now. Here's the next step:
On June 2, we're sending buses full of gun safety advocates straight to Harrisburg to look lawmakers in the eye and make the case for a ghost gun ban in Pennsylvania. [[link removed]]
