Let’s be clear: the DSCC’s job is to elect Democrats to the United States Senate. It’s not their job to choose which Democrats voters should support, or to show preference for moderates over progressives.

Justice Democrats

John —

When the DCCC officially introduced their blacklist, there was an incredible outcry. Progressives and Democratic voters from coast to coast made it clear that we didn’t want the establishment meddling in primaries. They didn’t care.

And now that brazenly anti-progressive behavior is spreading to the Senate equivalent of the DCCC: the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Check out this headline from the Intercept:

Let’s be clear: the DSCC’s job is to elect Democrats to the United States Senate. It’s not their job to choose which Democrats voters should support, or to show preference for moderates over progressives.

It’s clear that establishment leaders have learned nothing from 2016. That’s why it’s important for progressives to have an organization that can help mitigate the damage that organizations like the DCCC and DSCC inflict on progressives. Justice Democrats is that organization.

We’re working with people-powered campaigns like Jessica Cisneros and Betsy Sweet to embolden progressive ideals in 2020. Will you donate $3 to help us keep running? We’re 100% funded by small-dollar donations like yours »

In an ideal world, public outcries would push organizations like the DCCC or DSCC to respect the will of voters, and only enter into the race when Democratic voters make their preferences clear.

But these organizations have little accountability — if they have any at all. That means our only option for fighting back is to directly support the progressive campaigns that have to defeat Republicans and corporate Democrats too.

But with your help, I know we can do it. Grassroots voters don’t want an establishment that picks their candidate for them — we can do that ourselves.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
