Hi John,

Did you know more than a billion pounds of pesticides are used in the United States each year?

While many assume this use is highly regulated, the reality is that the Environmental Protection Agency has for decades refused to assess pesticides’ threat to endangered species or look at some of the most basic impacts on human health — like farmworker exposure or how our bodies react to being exposed to multiple pesticides at once.

Join me on Thursday, Aug. 13, for our next Saving Life on Earth webinar to learn what the Center is doing to ensure that endangered species and people, especially vulnerable farmworkers and children, are protected from dangerous pesticides.

The presentation will feature the Center's Environmental Health Director Lori Ann Burd and Senior Scientist Dr. Nate Donley.

About a quarter of pesticides used in the United States are deemed too dangerous to be used in the European Union and many other countries. Pesticides are also a leading cause of pollinator declines — yet they're still heavily used, even on public lands set aside for wildlife protection.

Clearly there’s much work to be done. Join us to find out how you can help.

The hour-long free webinar starts at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET. Register here and check your email for the link to join.
