President Trump has signed an executive order to drastically limit who gets to vote by mail in the 2026 midterm elections. The good news? The executive order would create chaos in our mail-in voting system and:

❌ Restrict mail-in voting to an unreliable list of voters determined by the federal government.
❌ Require the U.S. Postal Service to only send mail-in ballots to voters on the pre-approved list without any additional funding to do so.
❌ Investigate and prosecute anyone accused of sending ballots to ineligible voters.
❌ Leave voters with little or no options to correct errors.

The order also claims if states do not follow the order, they may lose access to federal funds. But let’s be clear: this executive order is unconstitutional [[link removed]], and part of an ongoing attempt to limit who participates in our democracy. States have the authority to decide how elections run under Article I, Section 4 [[link removed]] of the Constitution.
