# [#]This year, we are reminded more than ever that the decades-long fight for workers’ rights and dignity on the job has never been about just one person.
I am heartbroken for the women who have come forward to share their experiences of abuse, and I commend them for their courage. I’m also thinking about everyone in the labor movement who has been impacted by this news.
But the work to protect workers – especially those who have too often been overlooked – must continue.
Here in California, farm workers have long done some of the hardest and most essential work in our economy, often under difficult and dangerous conditions. Their contributions help feed our communities and sustain our state, and they deserve fair pay, safe workplaces, and the ability to speak up without fear.
The fight for basic worker protections has always been bigger than any one individual. It’s about making sure every worker is treated with dignity and respect.
I remain committed to advancing that work in Congress – strengthening health and safety protections, supporting fair wages, and ensuring workers can organize to improve their conditions.
Thank you for standing with working people,
Scott
