I’ve heard people say that Democrats are definitely going to win back the majority in Congress because voters are so disillusioned with President Trump and the GOP, that the Majority has overplayed their hand, that they are very unpopular. And, hey, because the party out of power always makes big gains during a midterm, right? Wrong.

That thinking is disastrous to our party, to our country, and to the millions of working families relying on us to stop the reckless and dangerous actions of President Trump and Congressional Republicans who are rubber-stamping his agenda.

My Democratic colleagues in Congress and I are fighting back; we are doing everything we can to stop the illegal actions of this President and his Administration. To stop the cruel policy choices which sell out the most vulnerable among us to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. It doesn’t always make the news, but trust me, we are throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at this: lawsuits, shadow hearings, endless procedural tactics to slow the process, town halls, rallies, and work in the media and in our communities to change hearts and minds.

But, we really can’t do this alone. Can you help? My end-of-quarter deadline is just 10 hours away, and as I and we all continue to fight to protect the rights and freedoms of those in our community and beyond, I need your support in this critical moment.
