Dominion CEO has gotta go. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Dear John,

Pipeline mastermind Tom Farrell must resign.

The Atlantic Coast Pipeline was a monster of a pipeline. It was designed to carry fracked gas across West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. It would have cut through the Appalachian trail, blasted through mountain ridges, and ended on the Carolina coast for potential export to the world. And now it's been canceled.

Dominion Energy canceled the Atlantic Coast Pipeline because our massive grassroots movement made clear that fracked gas has no future in our country.

What else has no future? The reckless leader who relentlessly pushed for this pipeline for years: Dominion head Tom Farrell.

Sign the petition: Tom Farrell must resign from Dominion Energy — or the board must fire him!

Tom Farrell has served as CEO of this massive utility giant for more than a decade. He was the main cheerleader for the ACP when it was first proposed. Then for years, as permit after permit for the ACP was thrown out, it became clearer and clearer that this project was a “reckless, racist ripoff,” in the words of Al Gore. Yet for years, under the leadership of Farrell, Dominion Energy pushed the lie that the ACP was on track, that it would be a great boon for shareholders — which was its primary goal. Eventually, legal complications led to ballooning expenses which made clear that the financial argument didn’t hold up either.

Now, the utility giant is claiming that it is on the right track to become a clean energy company instead. That might be possible. But not with Farrell at the helm, after his years of strangling Virginia politics and ripping off ratepayers.

It seems Dominion agrees, at least partially, that Farrell was a mistake. The utility recently announced that he would step down as CEO and become Executive Chair of the Dominion Board of Directors. But the company's new CEO will report to him, and Farrell will still have a heavy hand in planning Dominion's future. Farrell himself said in response, "I'm not going anywhere."1

If Dominion truly wants to turn a new leaf, it must begin by firing Tom Farrell and removing his influence on the company completely. Sign the petition today.

The evidence is clear. Tom Farrell has bullied landowners and communities for years through his addiction to fossil fuels: from the Wise County coal plant in Southwest Virginia, to the Cove Point gas export terminal in Maryland, to the ACP, Farrell has cemented his legacy as a fossil fuel shill with no regard for vulnerable communities or our climate. The aftermath of those decisions have led to billions of dollars lost for his company and countless ripoffs for Dominion's customers, not to mention the immeasurable harm done to the communities around those projects and our climate at large.

If you want to read more about how awful Farrell’s reign has been for Virginians, check out this article at the Huffington Post.

Clean energy companies can’t be run by former fossil fuel fanatics. A new direction means new leadership. Tell Dominion’s Board to fire Tom Farrell!

Because of the years of work that climate fighters like you put in, the $8 billion boondoggle ACP is no more. Now, the people of Buckingham can finally sleep soundly, knowing that construction will never start on a dangerous compressor station that would have poisoned their community. Finally, residents of communities from Bath County to Chesapeake won’t have to watch their land get destroyed by an unneeded fracked gas expressway. All of this is because of your tireless commitment to environmental justice!

It’s past time for Tom Farrell to follow the lead of his beloved ACP and retire. We know he won’t do this on his own volition, so we’re launching a nationwide campaign to oust him as the head of Dominion Energy. We’re going to deliver tens of thousands of signatures to his door, and send them to the Board of Directors and key Dominion shareholders.

Are you fired up and ready to end this madness? Sign our petition and tell five friends!

Onward,

Harrison Wallace
