John, last Friday, after weeks of Democrats holding firm and pushing a bill to fund TSA while omitting money for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol, the Senate finally reached a unanimous agreement to pay TSA agents and partially reopen DHS.
Now the legislation has reached the House, where Mike Johnson and the GOP — on orders from Donald Trump — have refused to even consider the bill. Now, instead of doing her job to find solutions within her own party, extremist Representative Lauren Boebert is desperately trying to shift the blame to …Chris?
Lauren Boebert's tweet:
"This is the Democrat returning to DC from vacation to make sure DHS isn’t funded and TSA agents go without pay.
Let’s make him famous.
@ChrisCoons"
As the DHS shutdown drags on and Americans face hours-long lines at airports across the country, Chris has been one of the top voices advocating for an end to this impasse. He voted more than ten times to pay TSA, Coast Guard, and parts of DHS unrelated to the negotiations.
Republicans blocked him and his colleagues for weeks, and now the House is in shambles thanks to a GOP that refuses to do their job.
If Lauren Boebert wants to point fingers at who is responsible for this chaos, maybe she should turn her eyes to Donald Trump — and herself.
Frankly, this is ridiculous, John. Add your name now if you agree: Donald Trump and the GOP are responsible for this shutdown, and they must be held accountable for their actions. >> [link removed]
