30 million Americans are unemployed right now. Families are struggling to keep food on the table while also keeping the lights on.
For too many families, the additional $600 per week in emergency unemployment assistance is the only thing helping them get by.
But that lifeline expired last week, and Mitch McConnell is blocking legislation that would extend those unemployment benefits.
McConnell is putting partisan jockeying above the urgent needs of American families. I’ve had enough.
McConnell has been ignoring this problem for months. It’s well past time to take action.
