John --
Instead of moving forward on the development of climate change technologies a recent study by the International Energy Agency and Economic Co-operation and Development shows that new patent filings for green, sustainable technologies are in decline.
The study notes that patents for carbon capture and storage, and clean energy are down by 44%. It also states that fluctuations will occur as new technologies advance, but there’s still tremendous room for growth.
The Green New Deal resolution is a must. Climate change can’t wait. It is an emergency, and is already impacting regions across the country with flooding, fires and reduced crop growth -- the sustainability of our planet is threatened.
We must elect a Congress that’s willing to stand with our global allies to curb carbon emissions in the next ten years. Our lives depend on it. This means investments in research and development for robust solutions including updating infrastructure, increasing sustainable practices for food manufacturing, curbing pollution and immediately implementing alternative energy and manufacturing solutions.
The Green New Deal presents a pathway forward to not only address climate change but generate tremendous economic growth. Advancements and research leads to more jobs!
On Tuesday we announced that Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio cortez will be joining the Brand New Congress slate for her 2020 re-election bid. She ran in 2018 on a BNC platform to drastically cut emissions in 12 years and to fund sweeping infrastructure changes.
Just this weekend the DNC voted against holding a climate change debate. We can no longer afford to elect representatives who are willing to ignore this global crisis.
We are working to elect more candidates who take the threat of climate change seriously and will stand with AOC to pass legislation and funding NOW.
Our candidates face incumbents whose pockets are lined with lobbyist money from fossil fuel industries and other corporations that are more than happy to turn a blind eye to the dire threats of climate change. Can you contribute now and help our candidates beat the corporate machine for a win in 2020?
