Dear Friend,
Hillsdale has a video we’d like to share with you today. It’s the trailer for our free online course, “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution.”
You can watch your video and register for the course below:

The United States Constitution was designed to secure the natural rights proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence.
Signed by the delegates to the Constitutional Convention on September 17, 1787, and ratified by the American people, it remains the most enduring and successful constitution in history.
That’s why we created this course, “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution.” Its purpose is to help you understand the principles of American government—and the political theory that gave rise to them.
In this twelve-lecture course, you’ll examine:
- the natural rights theory of the American Founding,
- the meaning of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution,
- the constitutional crisis of the Civil War,
- the Progressive rejection of the Founding,
- and the nature and form of modern liberalism.
By studying these ideas and events, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of how the Constitution has been challenged, defended, and interpreted throughout American history.
After watching the trailer, I hope you’ll join us by registering for this free online course. You can do so easily on the same page as the video.
Understanding the Constitution deepens our appreciation for the principles that have guided American self-government—and for the responsibilities those principles place on us today.
I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.
Warm regards,
