John-
Look, people notice things.
They notice when their grocery bill is higher than it’s ever been. They notice when their health insurance premiums jump again and again. They notice when their rent goes up and there’s nowhere cheaper to go. Families in Idaho are working hard. Some are working two jobs. Some are one medical bill away from disaster. A lot of folks are just trying to keep the lights on and food on the table. They came out in force for all the events I just hosted in N. Idaho. From Sandpoint to Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Kellogg and Moscow, I met with hundreds of working Idahoans in standing-room only venues. I heard scores of stories and saw more than a few tears of people asking for real solutions to their issues.
Meanwhile, our elected officials were dressing up and partying at one of the fanciest venues in Kootenai County for a political dinner. Smiling for photos. Clinking glasses. Rubbing elbows with a national politician who brings more baggage than solutions. This is not leadership. It's a complete disconnect. When people are living on the edge, this kind of political theatre feels like a slap in the face. It feels like the folks we sent to represent us have forgotten who they work for.
Idaho values aren’t about fancy dinners and out-of-state celebrity politicians. They’re about hard work, honesty and taking care of your neighbors. If you’re going to ask Idaho families to tighten their belts, maybe don’t do it while wearing a tux.
What an absolute sham.

Whether it was on the streets, in town halls, or in homes across the district, I heard from thousands of everyday Idahoans... and continued to build a movement that is four years in the making. We're ready to make sure Congress represents the people again, and that Idahoans have a true advocate in D.C. |
