When Ohioans overwhelmingly moved to enshrine abortion access in our state constitution almost three years ago, that should’ve been the end of the discussion.

But now, Ohio Republicans are trying to undermine voters and pass back door restrictions on abortion — and Friend, our state isn’t the only place this is happening.

As Republican legislators across the country increasingly fight to overturn policies Americans voted into law, our Secretaries of State are on the frontlines of the fight to protect the voices of the people in our direct democracy.

In the 2024 election, countless red states passed progressive ballot initiatives largely centered around increasing abortion access and improving sick leave policies for workers.

And just like we’re seeing in Ohio, Republican-led legislatures are using their majority to undo the people’s votes and pass policies that hurt all of us.

When voters make a clear and overwhelming decision, it’s up to our leaders to protect it. And that’s why we need an unwavering advocate for the people in our Secretary of State’s office.
