Hi friend,
What do abortion access and Labor Day have in common?
They're both about respecting, supporting, and empowering individuals so we can control our bodies, our families, and our life's path.
Anti-abortion legislators know that they can make abortion inaccessible for those with few resources by making it too expensive and difficult to seek care. By discriminating against women enrolled in Medicaid, creating waiting periods that cause the cost of care to skyrocket, or cutting off Title X family planning funds to health care providers who offer accurate information about abortion, they're targeting our dignity, our wallets, and our livelihoods - and our rights.
As Labor Day - a day to honor the contributions of workers across the country - approaches, we want to affirm that abortion access is an economic justice issue, and that we can't talk about reproductive freedom if we're not talking about the discrimination women and people who can become pregnant face on many levels.
