Friend -- yesterday, I told you about my surprise at agreeing with Donald
Trump Jr. about the risks of mining in Bristol Bay.

Right away, thousands of you signed the petition urging the EPA to listen to its
scientists and restore the order protecting Bristol Bay from the Pebble Mine.
And it's working!

"The Hill: Trump pledges to look at 'both sides' on Pebble Mine"

With President Trump considering this right now, we need to keep the pressure on.
Sign the petition today to protect Bristol Bay and stop the Pebble Mine for good.

Subject: On this, Donald Trump Jr. and I agree

Friend --

I am surprised to be saying this, but on at least one issue, Donald Trump Jr.
and I agree: We need to stop the Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay, Alaska.

"@DonaldJTrumpJr: As a sportsman who has spent plenty of time in the area I agree
100%. The headwaters of Bristol Bay and the surrounding fishery are too unique and
fragile to take any chances with."

Bristol Bay is home to the world's largest salmon run; roughly 40-60 million
salmon return to the watershed every year. The proposed Pebble Mine project
would threaten miles of marine waters, wetlands, lakes, and streams and could
jeopardize more than 14,000 fishing jobs in the Pacific Northwest and across the
nation.

Join me and at least one Trump in the fight to protect Bristol Bay. Tell the EPA:
Use your authority under the Clean Water Act to stop the Pebble Mine for good!

For years, the pristine waters of Bristol Bay were protected by the safeguards
put in place by President Obama's EPA and the Clean Water Act. Then the
Trump Administration came in and greenlighted the Pebble Mine, which
would generate tons of toxic mining waste, devastate nearly 105 miles of
spawning streams, and destroy up to 2,200 acres of wetland. Plus, it would
disrupt the broader $1.5 billion commercial and recreational sockeye salmon
fishery.

The science is clear -- you can't put a gold and copper mine on top of the most
productive salmon run in the world and not have substantial and permanent
damage. Let's prevent disaster before it happens.

Will you join me in the fight to follow science and protect our fishermen and
waterways from irresponsible exploitation?

I have spent the last eight years fighting to preserve Bristol Bay. I'm
certainly not giving up now.

Thank you,
