JOHN, I didn't enter this race to run my thoughts by political consultants or wait for polls to tell me what's popular. I entered this race because of what I’ve seen.

I grew up in the small town of Somerset, Wisconsin, and from the age of five, I planned to be a truck driver just like my dad.

I was so sure of my future that I didn't even think about going to college until a teacher encouraged me to sign up for football, which led to me playing offensive tackle for the UW–Madison Badgers and becoming the first in my family to graduate college.

Running for office never crossed my mind.

But now working in law and raising my two daughters alongside my wife, Renee, I see that the issues that I and so many other Wisconsinites have dealt with for years aren't going to just go away from one day to the next.

Someone needs to step up and change things.

And I'm ready to fight in the State Senate to solve this affordability crisis, improve our public education, and give Wisconsinites a fair shot at building a life they can be proud of right here at home.
