A seismic shock just ripped through the corporate Democratic establishment.

Cori Bush, who rose to fame protesting Mike Brown’s murder at the hands of Ferguson cops, won her St. Louis primary—and, effectively, the election to the House. 

Even better, Bush, a working class nurse who ran on defunding the police, the Green New Deal, and Medicare for All, defeated the “untouchable” Lacy Clay. This deep-pocketed ten-term incumbent was heir to a father who’d also held the House for fifteen terms. A 50-year Wall Street-controlled dynasty is now gone forever.

But perhaps most remarkable is that Cori Bush pulled off this remarkable feat even with Nancy Pelosi in control of the House. 

Cori’s achievement gives a lot of hope and momentum to our own campaign to take Nancy Pelosi’s seat in November. But it goes beyond that. 

Because if Cori was able to pull this off with Nancy Pelosi in her way, just think about what we can accomplish together when Pelosi is gone. 

I’m not being flip. I’m genuinely excited, and I hope you are too. Without Pelosi no longer protecting longtime incumbents who bought their seats with lobbyist and SuperPAC cash, we’ll finally be able to get the majority to pass urgently needed healthcare, climate, and justice reform laws. 

We can pull off an upset victory against Pelosi, just like Cori Bush did with Lacy Clay. But we can’t do it without you. Can you chip in today? 

Cori Bush’s defeat of Clay, and AOC’s similar defeat of Joe Crowley two years ago, paved the way. Now, it’s up to us to take down the final roadblock.
