Jack Reed

Friend,

Our country is in the midst of a public health crisis and an economic crisis, and the second will not be solved until we get a handle on the first. It is critical that we pass a bill not only to support struggling Americans, but to provide resources in the fight to curb the spread of COVID-19. Only then will we be able to put our economy on the road to a sustainable recovery.

Mitch McConnell's COVID-19 relief proposal is simply irresponsible. It caters to lobbyists without providing the economic support that American families need to weather this crisis.

Sign your name next to mine to demand that Mitch McConnell supports comprehensive COVID-19 relief legislation immediately.

Republicans' proposal to slash extended unemployment benefits is cruel, especially when it fails to address the root cause of unemployment or provide protections against further job losses. We must get the virus under control while continuing to support Americans through this crisis.

That means investing in our public health through increased testing and contact tracing measures, providing additional funds to our overwhelmed hospitals, setting up the infrastructure early for the distribution of a possible vaccine, and funding schools so they can safely reopen.

Americans deserve better. Sign the petition to tell Majority Leader McConnell that we need a strong COVID-19 relief package.

Sincerely,

Jack Reed
