Fight for $15

**************************
John,

I was evicted. McDonald's cut my hours, so I didn't have enough for rent. Every day, I have to choose between buying food and contributing rent to my friend I'm staying with. I’m running out of cash for the stack of bills that keeps piling up. I'm terrified I'll lose my job entirely.

Millions of people like me are facing the impossible -- and without much help.

Democrats passed a plan to continue benefits before they expired on August 1, but Republicans are holding up aid for millions of families that so desperately need it.

We don't have time for this.

Instead of protecting us, Senate Republicans are selling us out by trying to:

-- Undermine state and local services, threatening education, healthcare, and other core services.
-- Cut $400 a week from unemployment insurance benefits that millions depend on to keep a roof over the head and their kids fed.
-- Abandon assistance for Black people and other communities of color that are working on the frontlines and disproportionately devastated by COVID-19.
-- Shield corporations who don’t protect workers’ health and safety.
-- Reject expanded food assistance for families via SNAP while giving wealthy corporations a business meal tax deduction.

It's barbaric.
