John,

Your messages of support have been so overwhelming and your commitment to unite has brought me such joy. I sincerely thank you all.

Please know I have read every message, and I have taken them all to heart.

I am doing well because I am proud of what we've built. As Phil Boas wrote in the AZ Republic yesterday, as he summarized what is happening in our district,:

"Over the years, incumbent Republican David Schweikert has won election and re-election there by nearly 30 points. But two years ago, Democratic challenger Anita Malik closed the gap to nearly 10."

That is an incredible shift we created together. We made a real difference for the future.
Now, the race against Schweikert today is looking even stronger.

After a much-needed break, I will fight on. And I look forward to seeing each of you in the fight for change across our state again.

*Many of you have asked about yard signs. We will not be saving them. Please recycle your signs, they can be recycled curbside.

We'll be donating other supplies and sign rebar to candidates throughout the district. We are also working to see how we can best support Hiral's team.

Lastly, I wanted to bring your attention to an incredibly powerful 3-part series by some very insightful local leaders. Do you want to learn more about the systemic racism on which our country was built, about privilege and how to challenge the structures within which we live and work? Sign up for this event from the Women's Collective.

Please stay safe, stay diligent and wear a mask.

All the best,
- Anita Malik
