[[link removed]]Democrat,
While this year’s Democratic National Convention will be different from previous events due to COVID-19, I am no less excited to report that our New Jersey delegation has now been selected and the full list of delegates is available on our website [[link removed]] . Our delegation represents what makes our Democratic Party special -- it is a diverse group that covers all corners of our state and all of the constituency groups that make up our party. The delegation ranges from elected Democratic leaders like Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Bob Menendez and many more, to grassroots advocates working to bring change to their local communities.

As Delegation Chairman, I could not be more proud of this group that we have assembled and I look forward to leading them through what will be a Democratic National Convention unlike we have ever seen, as we work to unite our party behind Joe Biden and finally defeat Donald Trump.

As if the continuing COVID-19 crisis wasn’t enough, this week Hurricane Isaias resulted in dangerously high winds that knocked out power for over 1 million New Jersey households. Governor Murphy and his team are working around the clock along with utility providers like PSE&G, JCP&L and others to restore power to every resident who still has not been restored.

Of course, even with a hurricane to deal with the Governor is continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation. The state’s rate of transmission, or Rt, continues to be above 1.0 which means that each person who contracts the virus is spreading it to more than one other person. We all need to do our part to lower that number below 1.0 -- make sure to wear a mask when in public, practice social distancing and do not host or attend large indoor gatherings or parties, many of which have been tied to new COVID-19 outbreaks [[link removed]] .
For up to date information regarding new cases and directives regarding coronavirus, visit the state’s dedicated COVID-19 Information Hub [[link removed]] or follow Governor Murphy’s official pages on social media.

When Democratic candidates swept into office two years ago and took control of the House of Representatives, one of the closest races in the entire country happened right here in Burlington and Ocean counties when Andy Kim triumphed and flipped a long held Republican seat. Since then, Congressman Kim has distinguished himself as a national leader in fight back against COVID-19, serving on the Bipartisan House Select Committee [[link removed]] on the Coronavirus Crisis and helping constituents get the supplies and support they need [[link removed]] .
If you haven't had a chance to meet Andy Kim, check out the latest video in our 2020 Spotlight series:

Now, Andy is running for re-election against David Richter, a multimillionaire who first tried to run in two other congressional districts before settling on the Third District. Richter faced serious allegations of misogyny [[link removed]] in his brutal primary election, and he's made it crystal clear that he's only running for Congress to serve Washington Republicans [[link removed]] , big corporations and special interests -- not Burlington and Ocean county families.
We can't let David Richter and other Republicans take back the seats we fought so hard to win in 2018. Donate now to help New Jersey Democrats not just protect our majority but expand it even further. [[link removed]]
Thank you,
