Friend,
We finally know the certified results from our June primary -- we received 80% of the vote, and 56,139 votes -- making our win historic and showing New York how powerful and inclusive our grassroots movement is.
None of this would have been possible without your support, and I can’t thank you enough for your hard work and devotion to my re-election and the movement for progressive change nationwide. Because of you, I'll be able to continue fighting, organizing, and resisting in Washington.
Although hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers mailed in absentee ballots in June, a number of New Yorkers didn't receive their mail-in ballots on time, and many were invalidated because of postmark issues across the city. It's critical that the Board of Elections fix this for the general election, and while I'm glad to see the courts rule that more ballots should be counted for the primary, it does not erase the disenfranchisement from this June. We must -- and will -- get this right on November 3rd, ensuring we can safely and securely all vote by mail.
I look forward to continuing to work together on behalf of New York and working families across the nation.
Let's keep up the fight.
Thank you,
Nydia
