The U.S.-Israel partnership continues to reach new heights.
This week,

American and Israeli F-35 fighter pilots trained together in Israel. This was the second F-35 joint training exercise in the past six months as the two allies work together to keep both nations safe.
Israel’s ability to acquire the F-35, the world’s most advanced fighter jet, helps ensure the Jewish state’s ability to defend itself and is made possible through American security assistance that AIPAC lobbies for each year. Israel currently has two F-35 squadrons and has agreed to acquire 50 jets for $1.5 billion.
Also this week, a cargo plane touched down in Israel to package

Iron Dome components for the U.S. Army . The Army purchased the Iron Dome system last year and is set to test the life-saving system on American soil in 2021.

Israel Offers Assistance to Lebanon Following Explosion
Immediately following the explosion in Beirut on Tuesday, Israel

U.S. to Present U.N. Resolution to extend Iran Arms Embargo
On Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

announced that the United States would put forth a United Nations Security Council resolution next week calling for an extension of the arms embargo on Iran.

U.S. and Israel Strengthen Biodiversity Conservation Cooperation
The United States and Israel are strategic partners working together to solve 21st century challenges.
On Wednesday, the United States and Israel finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support future cooperation on biodiversity conservation.
This MOU creates a framework for the countries to work together on mutual challenges, such as combating wildlife trafficking, protecting ecosystems and managing parks and cultural sites.

AIPAC Memo: Tensions Mount on Israel’s Northern Border
Iranian-backed terror groups are mounting attacks along Israel’s northern border.
On July 27, Israel intercepted a Hezbollah terrorist cell that had penetrated the border. A week later, Israel thwarted four Iranian-backed terrorists from placing explosive devices along the Syrian-Israeli border.

last night , IDF troops identified, monitored and downed a drone that infiltrated into northern Israel. Iran has reportedly supplied advanced military drones to terrorist groups in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.
These incidents underscore the constant threat and volatility Israelis confront.
The United States must continue to support Israel’s right to self-defense and ensure the Jewish state has the means to do so.
