John,
We need action, fast.
Millions of Americans are struggling to feed their families now that the $600 unemployment checks have ended. The last check went out July 25, and still the Senate is refusing to act—more than two months after the House passed the HEROES Act.
On Aug. 11, we are taking our fight nationwide to the front doors of senators who refuse to #Savethe600 or provide any other support to unemployed workers. At these Senate offices, we are holding food distributions to help families in need and reminding senators of their obligation to America’s families who are struggling to survive this pandemic through no fault of their own.
That same day, we are challenging ourselves and thousands of others to stand in solidarity with families going hungry, by pledging to fast that day and calling on the Senate to provide much needed relief for laid-off workers.
Will you join us by pledging to join our national fast on Aug. 11 and taking action with us that day?
John, here’s the plan:
Today, make the pledge to fast.
On Aug. 11, post an “empty plate” solidarity picture on social media with a message to senators. Don’t forget to tag senators who refuse to pass the HEROES Act. Pledge now and we’ll send you instructions!
By pledging today, you are helping to send a message to America’s families everywhere who are struggling right now that they are not alone.
In Solidarity,
D. Taylor
