One of our favorite headlines from them.: LGBTQ+ Candidates Keep Winning Their Races in 2020 Rainbow Wave.

One of the biggest wins of the night? Stephanie Byers won her primary for the Kansas state House and is on-track to become the first openly trans person elected in Kansas history!

Spotlight candidate Greg Razer won a landslide victory over his opponent! He’s one step closer to restoring LGBTQ representation in the Missouri state Senate.

In Michigan, Spotlight candidate Dave Coulter handily won his primary for Oakland County Executive. Read up on his plans to win in November here.

While voters are still being tallied, Marko Liias looks to have advanced in his bid to become Washington’s next lieutenant governor. It’ll be a tough fight before November, but we’re confident Marko’s ready to win!

PRIMARIES STILL TO COME

August is a big month for LGBTQ candidates. We have candidates on the ballot in key states like Florida, Vermont and Wisconsin. Here are some of their stories.

Great news for Spotlight candidate Javier Estevez in his race for the Florida house: he raised more than $15,000 in July!

QUEERING CONGRESS

We now know U.S. Congresswoman Sharice Davids' opponent: she’ll face Amanda Adkins, former chairwoman of the Kansas Republican Party, in November.

Two pieces of great news for Jon Hoadley in his race to flip Michigan’s 6th Congressional District: he won his primary AND the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added him to the “Red to Blue” program!

Gina Ortiz Jones is on a mission to make history: becoming the first openly LGBTQ Congressperson from Texas. Read up on her campaign here!

Former Mayor Pete Buttigieg has a vested interest in ensuring that South Bend has a pro-equality member of Congress to replace anti-LGBTQ extremist Rep. Jackie Walorski. That’s why he endorsed Victory Fund candidate Pat Hackett for Indiana CD-02.

Another huge endorsement for Georgette Gómez: the National Education Association is endorsing her run for California’s 53rd Congressional District!
