DEF CON, one of the world's largest hacker conventions, is in virtual "safe mode" and we're giving a talk on Saturday. Join us!Â
Dear John,
Each year, DEF CON brings together thousands of hackers, computer scientists, researchers, and other security-minded professionals. This year’s convention, including the Voting Village, is going virtual on YouTube and Twitch. We invite you to join us this Saturday, August 8 at 4:00 pm PST / 7:00 pm EST for a timely talk by Verified Voting’s own Stephanie Singer on “Protecting Elections with Data Science -- A Tool for 2020 and Beyond.”
Stephanie will be discussing the possibilities and challenges that data science presents for protecting the integrity of our elections. The talk will also provide a preview of the Vote Visualizer, an exciting open-source tool that draws on the Verifier and other election data to highlight election results that may deserve further attention.
To participate in the chat, you’ll need a Discord account, but no advance registration is required to watch it on YouTube and Twitch. And if you can’t make it this Saturday, don’t worry: a recording of Stephanie’s talk will be available on our website. You can also expect to hear more about the Vote Visualizer and other resources in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
