John, we won!
They called me "vulnerable." But our big victory in Michigan's 13th Congressional District this week showed that our Squad is big and includes everyone who believes that we must show up for each other and prioritize people over profits.
None of this would be possible without the support of the Working Families Party and grassroots supporters in Michigan and throughout the country. WFP endorsed my re-election campaign early and mobilized to get out the vote across our district when they heard corporate special interests were trying to make this race a tough one.
Both here and nationwide, they're building the type of multi-racial and multi-cultural movement of working people that we need if we're going to grow our Squad even bigger.
Together, we prevailed in Michigan — but there's no time for rest. My sister in service Ilhan Omar is facing a tough re-election fight of her own in Minnesota on Tuesday. We must come together to make sure her campaign has the resources to get out the vote in these final few days of the primary.

This is serious: Ilhan's opponent and his GOP donors are pouring millions into TV ads and mailers smearing her.
And then there's Trump, who continually uses his bully pulpit to attack me and Ilhan — the first two Muslim women in Congress.
We terrify the establishment and Republicans for speaking truth to power and fighting back against an unjust status quo. But difficult times call for unprecedented action — on Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, water as a human right, rent cancellation, and so much more. We all need Ilhan to continue fighting with us and for us in Congress.
