Dear
Friend
--
Over the past 24-hours, the world has been
commemorating the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
We saw some true leadership from Nigeria, Ireland and Niue, which
chose to mark the date by becoming states
parties to the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of
Nuclear Weapons, and we saw a lot of great coverage of hibakusha
efforts to end nuclear weapons. Like this video by "Now This" in which
Hiroshima survivor and activist Koko Kondo returns to the site
where she was at the time of the atomic bombing.
