John, many of the loudest voices in the political conversation don’t have our best interests at heart. They’re beholden to their big money donors and their personal interests instead of voters like you.

That’s not me.

I spend time in our district to see and hear about the concerns, dreams, and daily realities people face. When I visit a voter, small business owner, or local leader, I sit down with them and put together a wish list of what would make their lives easier.

I’m often met with shocked faces. They’ve rarely had anyone listen to them like this.

They’re even more surprised when I come back to follow up, because I’m not the type of legislator who makes one visit then calls it a day. I stay in contact with the people I serve because that’s the only way to make sure we’re solving problems effectively.

Take DeKalb Municipal Airport, for example. They couldn’t afford to keep it running.

Once I was elected, I set out to find a solution.

I’d never worked at an airport before. But saving it meant finding $3 million. So I got to work. I secured the funding they needed to help keep their doors open, save jobs, and get people where they needed to go.

I’m nothing like my extreme MAGA Republican opponent, James Marter. And I don’t spend my time clip farming or talking up to big banks and mega tech companies because of what they could do for me. I deliver for the Illinois 14th. That’s the type of leadership we need here at home and in Washington.
