Oswego Village Hall closed today

following positive COVID-19 test

On Thursday, Aug. 6, the Village of Oswego was notified that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual works at Oswego Village Hall, and prior to the symptoms and confirmation of illness had limited interaction with the public following recommended state guidelines regarding face masks and safe distancing.

The Village of Oswego is working in consultation with the Kendall County Health Department to ensure that precautions are being taken to keep employees and the public safe, including notifying those who have been in contact with the individual.

Since March, the Village has been following state and local health officials? guidance including increasing cleaning schedules for Village facilities, screening employees and contractors, and requiring masks during interactions with the public and in common areas to protect staff and the public.

The employee is under a doctor?s care and self-quarantining as recommended.

Village Hall temporarily closed

As a precaution, Oswego Village Hall will be closed on Friday, Aug. 7, to be deep cleaned and disinfected. The Oswego Police Headquarters and Oswego Public Works Facility will remain open to the public.

During the closure, residents will be able to conduct business over the phone or by email. Employees will continue to work remotely where possible. Please allow additional time for staff to response to requests and questions.

Oswego Village Hall will reopen following the guidance of state and local health authorities. An announcement will be made when that date is determined.
