Hello friend,
This April, Zambian activist Precious Kalombwana is coming to the UK to share how the debt and climate crises are wreaking havoc in her home country – and how people like her are coming together to demand change.
We’re working with Christian Aid and other friends of Debt Justice to hold two ‘in conversation’ events with Precious. Together we’ll learn about debt and climate activism in Zambia, and what we can do in the UK to tackle unjust debt.

In recent years, Zambia has been at the receiving end of the climate emergency, with devastating floods that have claimed lives and destroyed homes and livelihoods. At the same time, the debt crisis has had a devastating impact on health and education and continues to trap people in poverty.
Precious is one of the most active voices for debt cancellation and climate action in her region. She regularly trains young people and community leaders in Zambia and has advocated for action on the debt and climate crises at the international climate talks (COP), raising the voices of young people, women and marginalised communities and demanding action from world leaders.
