Friend, we always knew the stakes of this election were high. But in the past few months – and even more so in the past couple of weeks – they’ve been upped higher than we could’ve imagined.
Here in Alabama, the COVID-19 crisis has shown us the importance of good leadership. Doug Jones has risen above politics, crossed partisan lines, and sided with health experts – he’s put the people of Alabama first every step of the way.
But in the past weeks, the stakes have been raised again – because Tommy Tuberville has shown where his allegiance lies. Club for Growth, an extremist group of corporate billionaires, is backing Tuberville’s campaign with millions of dollars invested in lying attack ads against Doug. They’re helping because Tuberville has promised to back their corrupt agenda – he’s committed to supporting their schemes to privatize social security and cut Medicare to its bare bones.
Watch our new campaign ad explaining the Tuberville-Club for Growth alliance:
The fact of the matter is, come November, Alabama will likely still be suffering in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. Tuberville has signalled that the Club for Growth agenda is his first priority – if elected, Tuberville’s likely first act as Senator would leave hundreds of thousands of Alabamians without health care during a pandemic. He would leave our most vulnerable neighbors – elderly folks and those with pre-existing conditions – completely unprotected, so that his buddies at Club for Growth can rake in more billions.
We need Alabamians to know the truth – that, behind closed doors, Tommy Tuberville has already auctioned off their representation in the Senate to the highest bidders on Wall Street.
