John,
Throughout his presidency, Donald Trump has consistently undermined critical federal agencies by nominating the wrong people to lead them — like when he nominated a climate change denier to run the EPA.
The pattern continues with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Donald Trump has nominated William Perry Pendley, someone who believes that all public lands should be privatized. As acting director of BLM, he's opened up millions of acres of public lands for the logging, mining, and fossil fuel industries. He's a threat to public lands, and we can't allow his nomination to go through.
We can’t afford to have Pendley as the full-time Director of the Bureau of Land Management. Will you join me in calling the Senate to reject his nomination? Our public lands depend on it.

Pendley has spent 40 years undermining federal public land protections as a lawyer by going after the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and more. He's fought hard to clear the runway for big monied interests to destroy our public lands, all in the name of profit.
Public lands account for 10 percent of the country. That's roughly entire landmass of New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut combined.
William Perry Pendley cannot be trusted to be the Director of the Bureau of Land Management. Will you join me in demanding that the Senate reject his nomination?
