Friend,
55 years ago today, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law. John Lewis and countless other activists risked their lives fighting for the Voting Rights Act and other monumental civil rights legislation.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 banned discriminatory practices that were used to block Black Americans and other people of color from voting.
But in 2013, the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, allowing states to suppress voters and make it harder to vote, especially for people of color.
In honor of Representative John Lewis, will you take action today and demand Congress restore the Voting Rights Act? >>>

Last year, Susan voted for legislation that would restore the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The bill was passed by the House, but Mitch McConnell has refused to bring it to a vote in the Senate.
This year’s election may be one of the most important of our lifetimes, and we are facing unprecedented challenges. We must ensure all eligible citizens can exercise their right to vote, and that means restoring the Voting Rights Act.
We need 100,000 signers to take action today. Will you add your name and demand Congress restore the Voting Rights Act of 1965?
