AFGE Coordinator Bootcamp (August 8th & 9th): This training is designed to sharpen the understanding of the role of a coordinator as an elected or appointed leader. Whether a Women's, Fair Practices, YOUNG or Pride Coordinator this class will enhance your knowledge of key civil, human, women and workers’ rights issues. Participants will learn how to be an effective coordinator in their local, and how to become and encourage others to become union activists. This course will be led by current HRC coordinators and will provide attendees with a history of AFGE, how to properly represent allies in the workplace as well as information about legislation, mobilization, and member education. Virtual Human Rights Training (August 15th & 16th): This training will offer a diverse option of courses that will vary from EEO, racial justice, reasonable accommodations, diversity and inclusion, and community activism. Participants will be able to choose from a variety of breakout sessions which will last two hours each. Click here to register.
AFGE YOUNG Leaders Training (August 29th & 30th): This training is designed to provide young unionists with the tools to be successful AFGE activists and leaders. The class will include topics such as a leadership round-table, Roberts Rules, how to build a professional resume, the role of money in unions, how to be an effective leader, and the power of voting.
