John,
Last week, the Senate let federal COVID-19 benefits expire.
Enhanced unemployment benefits? Expired. Federal eviction protections? Expired. Small business relief? Expired.
The help and assistance millions of Americans were counting on expired -- and the Senate did nothing to step up and protect us.
As the Heroes Act continued to sit untouched on Mitch McConnell's desk, the GOP was busy weighing business lunch tax exemptions instead of policies like my proposals to expand the child tax credit and pass the employee retention tax credit -- which so many families and small businesses are counting on to survive.
It's beyond irresponsible, John -- and since they refuse to act, we must. Sign our petition right now and demand the Senate pass the Heroes Act without delay. Families can't wait.

Just because benefits expired doesn't mean the pandemic expired, too.
In fact, as coronavirus cases keep climbing and the unemployment rate continues to rise -- and as thousands of Americans face possible eviction this week -- we need relief now more than ever.
For the Senate to "pause" while enhanced unemployment for 20 million Americans expired -- cutting people's unemployment benefits by half or more -- is unacceptable. It's a complete abdication of duty in the middle of an unprecedented crisis.
If we don't act fast and demand the Senate stop playing games and pass the Heroes Act, millions of people will face increasing hardships that will be difficult to recover from.
We can't let this continue a moment longer. We have to pass the Heroes Act now to protect our families, working people, and small businesses. If you agree, add your name now.
