John, let's play a game.
I'm going to give you the names of two U.S. Senators -- and one of them is Ted Cruz -- all you need to do is guess which one took more corporate PAC donations over the last five years. Sounds easy, right? Okay... here we go: Ted Cruz Dan Sullivan If you picked Ted Cruz, you are wrong. Ted has "only" taken $1,254,732 from corporate PACs. Dan Sullivan? He's taken $1,357,514 from corporate PACs! I don't know exactly what Ted Cruz and Dan Sullivan are going to discuss when they get together in Alaska on Sunday for their fancy $2,500 per person "boat excursion," but it clearly won't be about anything that doesn't please special interests. This movement -- our movement -- isn't about those who can call up a lobbyist or spare $2,500 to get on the boat to get what they need from our government. It's about regular people who are fed up and tired of politicians who have been bought off by corporations and special interests. That's why we've set a goal of earning 2,500 individual, small-dollar donations before Ted Cruz touches down in Alaska on Sunday -- can you pitch in right now? If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Maybe it's because I'm not taking any corporate PAC money, or maybe it's just because I'm more concerned with helping the people of Alaska get through this uncertain time than I am about helping myself stay in Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell's good graces, but I just don't get it, John. I'd take 2,500 grassroots donors over $2,500 in dark money any day, and that's why I'm asking you to step up right now. Money talks, and now is our chance to show Ted Cruz and Dan Sullivan that grassroots support speaks louder than dark money donors -- chip in right now to help us reach our 2,500 donor goal by tomorrow night. Thank you for being a part of this people-powered movement, Dr. Al Gross
