[1]Women's March

It’s starting, John.

Our very first Text Back Tuesday voter contact event is this Tuesday,
August 11 and we need your help to make sure women across the country are
ready to vote on November 3rd.

It may feel like the election is still a ways away, but it’s
not, John. Most people don’t know
this – but in past elections, GOTV has fallen short because voter contact
programs started too late. We’re not making the same mistake. That’s why
we were starting early. But to stay on track to defeat Trump, we need to
get going now.

[ [link removed] ]Will you RSVP now to join us this Tuesday, August 11 at 6pm ET/3pm PT
for a short training and hour of text banking to women voters in
Wisconsin?

Last week, we shared our plan to reach as many women voters as possible in
the last 100 days of the election in order to defeat Trump. Women can and
must decide the outcome of this election, but that’s only possible if
we’re strategic and organized.

Women’s March and our sister organization, Women’s March Action, are
working together to recruit and organize women and allies to talk to women
voters every week until the election. All you need is a computer or
tablet. We’ll train you on how to use our peer-to-peer texting tool and
provide support, jokes, and sample scripts.

During the shifts this month, you’ll have the opportunity to text
one-on-one with other women in Wisconsin and Michigan to answer their
questions and make sure they have what they need to register to vote or
request a mail-in ballot. Study after study shows that these types of
conversations are the single most important tool we have to increase voter
turnout.

These are key states to win,
John. Michigan is where Trump won by the
smallest margin in 2016. Democrats flipped eight statewide seats in 2018
and it’s one of our best chances to flip a state in 2020. Meanwhile, Trump
won Wisconsin by less than one point in 2016, and a Democrat won the
governorship by less than one point in 2018 — meaning Wisconsin could be
the closest battleground state of all.

[ [link removed] ]Sign up now to join our Text Back Tuesday event and we’ll give you
everything you need to help drive record turnout on November 3rd.

Together we can rise up to defeat Trump and build a better future for all
of us. We’re doing that not only through these virtual get-out-the-vote
gatherings, but also through Women2Women local organizing circles.

Nothing short of an unprecedented, grassroots effort is necessary to make
sure we get Trump out of office.

Let’s get to work.

Kate
