But as the national debt continues to grow—and as Republicans continue to offer bicameral solutions for tackling this issue—let’s do a reality check on the GOP Tax Cuts’ impact on the wallets of the federal government and middle-class families.

The Critical Role Undocumented Immigrants Play In Texas' Economy​ -  Current US immigration laws actually encourage American employers to misclassify workers by calling them subcontractors in order to avoid workers comp, overtime, and payroll taxes. This cheats workers out of benefits and wages and gives unscrupulous employers an unfair advantage against legitimate employers. Creating a method for undocumented workers to earn their legal status would give employers the opportunity to hire badly-needed workers who have already completed years of “on-the-job-training” while working in the shadows.

It's past time that illegal immigrants and the people who employ them pay their fair share. The United States needs a system where the undocumented would be issued tamper-proof IDs, taxed at a rate equal to or higher than American citizens, and required to work for employers who deduct and match taxes.
